✨️Equine Reiki Session (In Person)✨️

My work with horses is rooted in a belief that has only deepened over time: horses are extraordinarily emotionally complex beings, and far too often even the most modern training modalities oversimplify them. While our understanding of equine behavior has evolved tremendously, there is still a tendency to view horses primarily through the lens of performance, conditioning, and observable responses. In doing so, we can unintentionally lose sight of the individual living behind the behavior.

Every horse possesses a unique emotional experience of the world. They have distinct personalities, preferences, relationship dynamics, and ways of processing emotional upset. They form friendships and attachments, develop trust over time, navigate conflict within their social groups, and respond to life experiences in ways that are as individual as the horses themselves. Anyone who has spent enough time truly observing horses knows that they are not interchangeable animals responding to the same inputs in the same ways. They are individuals with rich emotional lives and their own perspectives on the relationships they build.

One of the greatest misconceptions about horses is the idea that they are primarily motivated by food, rewards, or the release of pressure. While these things certainly have their place, I have found that most horses crave something much deeper. They seek emotional connection, safety, understanding, and authentic partnership. They want to feel seen by the people who care for them. They want consistency, trust, and relationships that allow them to soften rather than simply comply.

This understanding forms the foundation of my Equine Reiki practice. Rather than approaching a horse as a collection of behaviors to be modified or problems to be solved, I approach them as an emotional being whose experiences matter. Reiki creates an opportunity for horses to settle into a space where they are not being asked to perform, learn, respond, or meet expectations. It allows them a moment of simply being, while offering energetic support for stress, emotional imbalance, anxiety, transitions, grief, recovery, and the many unseen experiences that can shape their well-being.

My goal is not to replace training, veterinary care, or thoughtful horsemanship. Rather, it is to complement those things by supporting the aspects of the horse that are often the most difficult to quantify and yet remain profoundly important. When we begin to recognize the depth of a horse's emotional world, we often find that healing, trust, and connection become possible in ways that training alone cannot always reach. Equine Reiki offers a space for that connection, honoring the horse not only for what they do, but for who they are.
